We really love chairs!  The endless variety of form and style, the types of beautiful wood used in their construction, the sense of age resulting from use by generations who have gone before, all bring a special joy to finding and using this most essential item of furniture. Recently we've put a number of interesting chairs on the website - a simple and unusual low-back Windsor (now sold), a beautiful pair of 18th century side chairs (sold), a stately reclining chair from East Anglia (sold), a crinoline-stretcher hoopback Windsor chair with amazingly rich colour.  Find them on our furniture pages.  The latest chairs to go on the site are a pair of wonderfully turned side chairs with old rush seats and wonderfully worn front stretchers.  At first sight these chairs would appear to be of 17th century origin, because of some elements of their style and construction, but we think they belong to the mid 18th century.  They are absolutely charming.  See them using the link PAIR OF RUSH-SEATED TURNED CHAIRS
